The most recent news updates and press releases from Kitchener Public Library.
Yesterday, the Provincial Government announced the first phase of the province’s reopening framework. The announcement included an expanded list of services for select businesses and organizations, including curbside pickup for public libraries.
We are actively working on a plan to reintroduce library services to the community. Our multi-phase approach to reopening has been developed in collaboration with our municipal partners and follows the guidelines set out by public health. At each phase, the safety of our staff, customers and community is our top priority.
Before offering curbside pickup, we need to ensure we have the necessary health and safety protocols in place. This includes securing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). As with each phase in our reopening plan, we will only introduce new services when we feel confident in our ability to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and customers.
At this point, we are working towards being able to provide curbside pickup by June 15, 2020. However, this date may change depending on our ability to establish the necessary health and safety protocols.
Further updates will continue to be posted on this page.
